I paid FIVE DOLLARS for ONE Diet Coke at a restaurant near Gallery Place yesterday, and I don’t want to get too political but this is the fault of NIMBYs.

It occurs to me that Trump is attending the Super Bowl and Kendrick Lamar, likely the greatest diss track artist in history at the peak of his powers, is performing at halftime… and does Trump really want to expose himself to that risk?

Mariann Budde has set a high bar but Kendrick might clear it.

The people who planted the mines in Minesweeper didn’t do a great job. They shouldn’t have put those numbers down too.

I remain grateful to @northjerseynews.bsky.social for letting me write earlier this month about Jimmy Carter and my former boss, Bill Pascrell, after both men died last year. www.northjersey.com/story/opinio...
Jimmy Carter and Bill Pascrell brought humility to our politics. We miss them | Opinion
President Jimmy Carter and Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr. exuded a powerful character and a commitment to public virtue. Their example will be missed.

A relevant anecdote 🧵: in an early draft of my Note published in the Georgia Law Review last year, I had asserted that a hypothetical transaction was subject to income tax at a top 37% rate. My Note advisor pointed out that the transaction should properly be subject to the gift tax at a 40% rate.
I’m legitimately mad. Hackish shit gets rewarded in the legal academy because 2Ls get passed on nonsense and they like it.

Back in November, I wrote that Georgia should adopt a red-flag law to advance gun safety after last fall's shooting at Apalachee High School. Check it out at the Georgia Law Review. georgialawreview.org/article/1260...

To kick off Bluesky, I'm thinking about a classic @xkcd.com comic. For what it's worth, the French Navy seems to have an account on here.
