Thanks for the kind words, Shriram, and your incredible collegiality and plain ol' brilliance over the years. At this point, it's looking like the undergraduate cognitive science degree will be closed, but there is no immediate plan to close the PhD program.

What the heck!?!?! I did an Oberlin Winter Term that involved reading GEB, culminating in Doug Hofstadter visiting us. The Winter Term was organized by William Friedman in the Psychology Department. Maybe Bob Salter also was involved from CS. That would have been maybe January of 1983 or 1984.
