Wasn't poor, unless you mean purely because he didn't score. Decent placement and velocity, and like most pens scored, if the keeper goes the other way it's in. Keeper went early and happened to commit to the correct side.

The level of 'I don't give a fuck about how this looks' with Trump is truly remarkable. But, he's always been an entitled egomaniac and will grab absolutely everything within his reach without a seconds thought of morals or optics.

It feels so odd to have actual professional recruitment at the club. Feels like so long we've suffered without competent people in charge. This is the 3rd window that the 49ers have showed that they know what they're doing. Maybe we should just accept this is the new Leeds.

We need strength in depth for the Prem. And strength means the replacement is on a par with the first choice rather than a much weaker player to just fill a gap. Plus with 2 equal strength players for a position we can rest players through choice rather than necessity.

Incredible what can happen when capable people run the club.

Farke has already said we will need a different approach. Last season we dominated possession and controlled most games. He's realistic enough to know that it's highly unlikely to continue in the Prem.

Haven't seen any clips, stats or opinion yet talking about what a great 'defender' he is. Whilst I appreciate the attacking side of a FBs game is extremely important these days, it would be a welcome change to have one who can also competently defend. Especially in the Prem. Is this that guy?

'pretty good' is quite harsh IMO.

I think their first two windows (considering the financial/contractual situation we were in) were really good and represented a huge improvement over the many previous years of ineptitude.

Would love us to have an above average Prem level keeper this season, after struggling with a below average Championship keeper for the last few years.

Considering the liability he was for his first 2 seasons (it was usually a relief to hear he was injured again), I'd say he managed to break even by the time he left. He was superb last season, but that was in a team that for the most part bossed possession against significantly weaker opposition.

Can this guy defend? Seems ages since we've had a LB who can.

Change wasn't the issue. Employing woeful coaches was.

Been listening to your pods for a fair while and I have to say you hide it well.

Didn't watch a minute of it live and won't be bothering with any 'highlights' packages.

While we're trying our best to fuck things up, I'll focus on the garden as it's much much better for my mental health.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 Mes being Mes. Can't blame the lad.

Absolutely fine. I hate the Prem.

Quite shrewd of me to not bother watching this one. Sounds like it was extremely painful.

Saw on FotMob we'd gone a goal down despite 'winning on stats' as per usual and straight away thought 'I bet Mes messed up again'.

You'll go a long way to find a keeper less commanding of his 6yd box than Mes. A huge weakness that has shown zero improvement in 5 years.
