Can you elaborate on this, especially for a scenario where the backend is not nodejs? What is this "data layer"? Something like TanStack Query?

This question has troubled me for so long and I still haven't found a good answer. It's just so complicated and there are so many ways to do it. What module system to use/support? Why even bundle at all? Include types? source maps?
