La bella Italia…
A crushed metal soda can, long emptied of fizz, now drips with life. From its mouth, a lush community of mosses spills out—as if nature had found a new way to pour itself into the world…

A couple of weeks ago, I had to make a quick trip to Valencia. As part of that visit, I took an even briefer detour to Paiporta—one of the areas hardest hit by the Dana in October 2024 in Spain. I was shocked by the quiet resilience of the place. There was one of those silences that says everything.

Without a doubt, one of the emotions that impacts me the most when photographing my projects is the loneliness of animals that, in one way or another, have been torn from their natural environment. Java, Indonesia.

It's not an ant dangling from its legs in the forest of Cameroon. What you're looking at is a bug (fam. Hemiptera) that cloaks its body with materials from its surroundings-sand, lichens…-creating a perfect disguise.
The result is an insect's nightmare: a predator that looks like a piece of earth!

This male stumbled upon human feces deposited within his territory and decided it was worth investigating—and why not, a quick snack. This happened because someone decided to step off the boardwalk, leave the bars behind, and plant a "souvenir" among the trees. Human-wildlife interaction I guess…

How does our presence shape the lives of other beings? Sometimes in ways we would never imagine. What you see here is the lizard Podarcis pityusensis, an endemic species from the Balearic Islands (Spain), recently listed as Critically Endangered.(1/2)

Amphibians are the most threatened group of vertebrates on the planet, with one in three species facing serious conservation issues. This situation requires urgent action to avoid losing fascinating species such as the horned frog Pelobatrachus nasutus, a species whose populations are in decline.
