It’s not a democratic country, Iran is a theocracy and the way women and many of it’s people are treated is shameful and I totally agree with you about the repression of women’s rights. I just wanted to let you know that people get on with their lives as best they can under the radar. 🙏🏽😊

There are also Iranian Jews still in Iran (keep their cards close to their heart) and there is even a Jewish Tomb of Esther and Mordecai in Hamadan which I have personally visited, look it up.

Funnily enough I went to a French convent school in Tehran, 1 road away from American Embassy before the revolution and am supposed to be Catholic and no don’t worry even the Iranian nutters won’t be interested in touching a Catholic like yourself, you’re safe.

I would like the regime in Iran to change to one where the current religious nut jobs (mullahs) are not in power and Iran can be a secular state ffs, that is my ultimate dream as it is for most Iranians I know. I live in hope. ✌🏽

Iranian women can drive, are allowed to sing, can drive a bike and can swim and they can petition for divorce and they are allowed to leave the country if they want, you’re thinking of Afghanistan where the Taliban are back in power. In Iran women must cover their hair.
