This would be my paternal grandfather ⬇️
He would subsequently become Minister of Culture and Chancellor of Tehran University.

Thanks for sharing, Reza. Will include this in our family collection.

Both of my grandparents passed away somewhat recently, but they carried with them the horrific stories of the generation right before them. It was indeed one of the greatest national tragedies that has shaped the historical memory of the country. Here's to the memory of #Iran’s WWI victims. 3/3

The combined toll of war, famine, and widespread disease claimed at least one-fifth of the population. My own grandfather, pictured here in his 30s, lost his entire family as a result of #Iran's 1918-1920 influenza pandemic that followed the war and grew up as an orphan. 2/3

Nations such as Brazil, Myanmar, Burundi, and Kazakhstan have relocated their capitals in recent decades, but many continue to struggle with the logistical, resource management, and other challenges. 3/3 #Iran

But, relocating the capital, as Pezeshkian has proposed, is a pipe dream. The idea has resurfaced since the late 1980s. It's been put on hold every time due to massive costs, bureaucratic logjams, and inadequate planning. Experiences from other countries don't bode well for #Iran either. 2/3
