The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World - the completely absurd genre clash totally works. Isekai is usually a very hard pass but this is upbeat, charming and fun and not the usual bland cookie cutter dreck. Love the MC. He's so extra. Looking forward to more.

Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun S2 - yes obviously. When watching it I realized S1 (and Uchitama Have You Seen My Tama) were the last shows I watched at the *very* end of the before times. And you could see Promare in a theater. Wild.

Sakamoto Days - nothing surprising about a really well done WSJ adaptation but holy shit I can't remember last time I had that much fun with an first episode. Absolutely giddy from the spot on humor. Convenience store slice of life by way of John Wick? I am so very there.

Fate/Strange Fake - I mean it's a Fate/Situation. Nothing surprising, operates as expected if that's your deal. I apparently missed the episode zero bit so a nice catch up. Probably some deep cut lore shit going on but I'm just going to roll with it.

Honey Lemon Soda - it had a pleasant tone and I'm glad the word of mouth esteem for the source material counterbalances some of the generic feeling bits Like the hot bad boy with a hat who is coincidentally super nice. But I'm down with shows about people being kind so hopeful.

Flower And Asura - now we're talking. Gorgeous visual storytelling at the confluence of art, creativity and passion for niche interests. Fun looking co-ed cast. Broadcast club! Sign me the fuck up. First show this season I've been super jazzed for.

ZENSHU - tough call on the first episode. It's a solid looking MAPPA production and it's definitely going for something clever. Plus I really do like the protagonist. However I have a hard time trusting it due to it being touched by the Dread Specter of Isekai. Trial mode for the moment.

My Happy Marriage S2 (pre-watch) - S1 was a very well told story, and I know that sort of trauma doesn't just vanish because a hot guy was nice to you. I also eventually found her constant self-denigration to be a bit exhausting to watch. Both can be true. So want to see where we are at with that.

Ameku M.D. - House/Black Jack by way of Columbo is a pretty easy sell with me. Takao manages to be assertive and bit prickly without being too abrasive or annoying, so that strikes a good balance (could have been a deal breaker). Two part premier was a good opening move.
