Counterpoint, I get banned here a lot less.

Lol, he didn't even abolish slavery in his own house. He actively campaigned against it.

People thought slavery was morally reprehensible even in his own lifetime. Pennsylvania abolished it in 1792.

What I'm hearing is, I can get my hands on a bundle of Blackwell GPUs in the coming future by dumpster diving in Silicon Valley.

Unironically got banned there for saying that Duvergers law makes third party runs for president a non-starter.

Social progressivism won't happen until material conditions have been improved.
November 14, 2025 at 8:44 PM
Same, we can try to guide them to more progressive views when the boot's off their necks. They don't seem to be wasting time and resources acting on that bigotry.

They won't be receptive to changing their opinion to something more socially progressive because of scolding from the west regardless.

Reading between the lines I always thought of Bevins as someone who was critical of the “authoritarian” socialist states but my takeaway from The Jakarta Method was still something like “this is what happens when you don’t get in the fucking tank.”

If genocide and ethnic cleansing is part of your religion, then your religion is an abomination.
November 7, 2025 at 3:40 PM
If you knew anything about Judaism you'd know you're not supposed to be there til the messiah shows up.

Zionism explicitly violates Jewish beliefs.

All that is pointless though, I dont care what some three millenia old scrolls say, no one is entitled to commit genocide and ethnic cleansing.

I'm not trying to say hes not compromised in some way, all politicians under the US system are.

But I don't think the shot-callers wanted this particular outcome.

Why throw any treasure behind Cuomo if Zohran is already their guy?

Why burn tens of millions on kayfabe? What would be gained?
November 6, 2025 at 8:38 PM
I'll at least wait til he does these things to write him off entirely.

Like I said, he's a socdem at best. Shit foreign policy is their calling card.

An alternate outcome is they see the failures of reformist methods and politics and radicalize.
November 6, 2025 at 8:29 PM
Could be, but I really think they're pissed the sex pest lost.

Corrupting Mamdani was plan B at best.
November 6, 2025 at 8:25 PM
At least in terms of public perception and opinion.

What 90% of people will see, is "A socialist is now the mayor of NYC" and for most people, thats where their analysis ends.

The optimism is also probably being compounded by Dick Cheney dying and Pelosi's phylactery running dry.
November 6, 2025 at 8:08 PM
The fact that Mamdani was even flirting with the word socialism and still won his election is positive news. Besides, leftists are starved for W's lately. We need things to claim as our wins.

Whether he is a socialist is less important than him being percieved as one by the proletariat.
November 6, 2025 at 8:08 PM
Yeah at best he's a milquetoast socdem, but for some reason the ghouls in the democratic party are shitting their britches about him.

Elections are useless for revolution, but even Lenin said that organizing via elections is something socialists shouldn't turn their noses up at.
