I agree with many of your points. I would add that it will add confusion to already confusing board states and will frankly look horrible. I don't want to see a splash of red on my opponents mono white board...

Exactly! It is meant to be a limiter. Honestly, what concerns me the most about the potential hybrid mana change is how odd red card frames will look in a mono white deck.

I've asked my moderately sized LGS (WPN) how they plan to distribute as I would like to get a few for my kids, and everyone acts like they don't even know what welcome decks are... My oldest is dying to learn to play "Dad's game" with Spider-Man cards, but they are currently selling for $25-40 each.

I find myself constantly choosing the original aprinting due to the old or pre-modern border (e.g., 2011). My playgroup always assumes an old border card is broken, so it's fun to play a card from Mirage only for them to realize it's a rampant growth 😁

The fire crystal is slightly over rate for haste, but the ruby medallion effect on top... Gruul commander decks are eating good with this set.

The church has had many failings in history, which rightfully must be named and disavowed. Because the church is composed of people, it is capable of great evil just as it is capable of great good.
