I'm real
Wouldn't be that surprising. I bet he doesn't know how though.

The response to this HAS been cathartic! For once there is a widespread, shared acknowledgement of our party's real problem: corporate politicians who are fine with oligarchy as long as the machinery of capitalism is running smoothly. No more!!!

I mean, it makes sense that they were waiting until after the Nov 4 elections. I think that's the most obvious date that factored in.

You keep using that word, 'fight.' I do not think it means what you think it means.
November 11, 2025 at 2:47 AM
Do vote! Just not for establishment Dems who take corporate money.
November 11, 2025 at 2:46 AM
Yep, minimal scrutiny is OVER! People are pissed.

Remember when you were a kid and it seemed like all the adults automatically knew what they were doing? But then you grew up and realized it's chaos? That's how this feels

Kind of a tangent, but how would the conversation feel different if there was a better term than "Government shutdown", which sounds objectively worse than "Reopening the govt"? Isn't it true that a "shutdown" is just when there's no spending bill? I know it's academic but it feels important.

Same question

www.nj.com/politics/202...

Durbin and Shaheen have stated they will not seek re-election when their terms expire in 2026. Fetterman, Hassan and Cortez Masto will not be back on the ballot until 2028. The rest – King, Kaine, and Rosen – are not up for re-election until 2030.
The hidden connection between 8 Dem senators who broke with their party to end the shutdown
None of them face voters in 2026, and two are already planning to retire, giving them political freedom to break the six-week stalemate over ACA tax credits.

Yeah it's a tuck tail and run... No other way to see it.
November 10, 2025 at 5:13 PM
Ok I get you now. Maybe his name was circulating earlier but he ended up voting no (because they got the 8 they needed without him?) And that's what everyone's saying now: it's not enough to roast the ones who voted yes and celebrate those who voted no. The whole caucus needs to answer for this.

In a way (a terrible way) it's refreshing, you know? To really find out who's on our side. The days of politicians flying under the radar and selling easy narratives is longgggg gone!
November 10, 2025 at 3:23 AM
Fighting on two fronts is what it feels like. This sucks. But there's no alternative.
November 10, 2025 at 3:11 AM
You're right. I really hate telling people how to do their job but when their job is to represent us, the people, we have to walk them through it. It's not enough to vote against the bad guys, leaders must work FOR the people!

Why Ossoff?

The increase in numbers is a good sign. Hang in there!

It's asking a lot, but yes. You are right.

I'm fascinated (in a horrified kind of way) by how the personal psychology of individuals can have massive influence on the world through big systems. Another example is Facebook being directed mostly by whatever Mark thinks at the time. It's all personal.

Yes, that was what I meant.

So the top commander of the SEALS gets booted out by a guy who wants "nothing to get in the way" of Trump's plans. Very comforting.

It's about loyalty.
August 23, 2025 at 2:24 PM
You don't get to know that
August 23, 2025 at 2:22 PM
Not even the fact that they look like they haven't run in decades, but more so the reaction time and body language when their man decided to book it. They're not trained to make arrests.
August 19, 2025 at 1:02 AM
Never seen better proof that these ICE have zero training.
August 18, 2025 at 7:38 PM
Because it is. You recognize it for what it is.
