He/Him

“You yell 'Barracuda,' everybody says 'Huh? What?' Yell 'Shark,' we've got a panic on our hands on the 4th of July.”

I love film! My passions run toward horror, naturalism, microbudget, & emotional authenticity
I feel like at this point unless you’re Gen Alpha there’s a reasonable chance that The Simpsons will outlive you.

If you’re over 30 please don’t say “face card.” For fuck’s sake, respect yourself.

Very excited to now be certain that depression is back, in full swing! Stay tuned for such exciting episodes as dissociating in bed and forgetting to eat!

Remarkable to make significant progress on self-knowledge and to then be unable to tell if you slept all day because you were overtired, sick or experiencing surging depression.

I can’t string together words to make myself happy and it’s killing me. My ability to write seems to have evaporated.

I’ll say this for Adam Wingard; he doesn’t seem to have as many loud and angry shooters as Oz Perkins and Ti West.

How in the world did John Lee Hancock channel John Sayles with The Founder?
November 13, 2025 at 3:03 AM
John Lee Hancock is a journeyman
who has made two masterpieces asking whether capitalism is inherently the American Dream. Michael Keaton is a ghoul as Ray Kroc in The Founder repurposing the McDonald Brothers’ dream into something poisonous. Hancock leaves room for nuance and complexity. Great!

I realize that saying PATHS OF GLORY is a heater is tantamount to observing that the sun rises in east but it is fucking incredible.

Saw that A24 is selling Pearl “I’m a Star” Christmas tree toppers and I was wondering if any of you have a length of rope and an easily kickable stool.

In 2026 why don’t we stop asking clearly disinterested actors during press junkets what they think about memes, please ❤️

PREDATOR MOTHERFUCKING BADLANDS

Lots of stuff makes me feel old these days, my knees, feet, bills, worries, etc. Predator Badlands filled me with enough unchained joy that I immediately want to watch it again, have some mozzarella sticks and stay up all night talking about it.

Have seen the Eli Roth quote and my take is that it’s like shit complimenting piss by comparing piss to wine. It’s stupid but I remain unphased because it’s just shit and shit will never sully the reputation of good wine.

The major radio station that does an all Christmas music format during the holidays transitioned to the format on November 1st this year. Is it any wonder that by December 15th people are ready to shiv Frosty the Snowman?

When Mikael tells Lisbeth he quit smoking in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo it breaks my heart.

Incurious, boring, Orientalist, misogynistic, and visually overwrought. BALLAD OF A SMALL PLAYER is myopically focused on its yellow gloved gambler played by the incredible Colin Farrell but for all its focus it has nothing new to say about addiction, men, or depression. A waste.
