📚 #WritingLifeMonthly a few lines from book 2 of my series that I'm now working on.

His leg had been stiff since they disembarked the train. Mayak stifled a snicker and stepped back, gesturing dramatically to the station’s thick glass ceiling. Just beyond it, the everpresent dividing wall loomed through the smog. “Sightseeing, naturally — is that not what a visitor does in the capital?” “And see what exactly?” Mietek quipped, gesturing the same as Mayak did. “The smog looks nastier than the last time we were here.”

Stardust of Morgrad is back from being edited! Thanks to the amazing @willowtalksbooks.bsky.social the book is now filled with feedback and ready for my final edits and then... the real scary stuff!

Time to start scouting a cover artist and making some maps!

It's official! Stardust of Morgrad is now with an editor and is on its way to being a real book! The countdown to all the exciting steps has started! So stay tuned!

I'll be posting more soon with details about lore, characters, and maybe even sneak peeks!

A couple of works in progress for another series I plan to start once I’ve got a firm grip on Morgrad and such.
This would be more fantasy leaning, with three standalone stories set in the same world.

#SFFChat I loved the way Dragonfall utilised 1st, 2nd AND 3rd person perspective across the whole novel and to emphasises different character voices in different ways. I thought it was fascinating and unique.

#SFFChat Personally I enjoy 3rd POV for Morgrad, so I can include lots of visuals for the world as well as the characters.
Her defiance caught the figure off guard. They staggered back, eyes wide, and Beatrix raised her voice. “You took Mitya’s humanity! You’ve made him violent and in so much pain! You and Agata stripped his real self from him and left him to be your puppet!” “He will awaken soon, please be assured,” her double gave her another cold smile. Its form melted before Beatrix. Bright lights shaping and reforming into new colours. Golden brown eyes became yellow jasper, and gold curls became smoke black wisps. Now they spoke with Dmitri’s voice, the smile unflinching. “He will join just as your Guardian did, in symbiosis.” “Don’t you dare use his image!” Beatrix screamed. She lunged for the Solarii, but their forms merely shifted away from her grasp, reforming behind her and laughing.

Sasha just wanted to ignore his problems, thinking if he kept his head down then it would all blow over. Unfortunately, forces around him have plans for him - and they won't wait for him to realise he needs answers about his missing memories.

The split city, enveloped in smog. Morgrad has influences taken from both real places and fantasy worlds. Inspired heavily by my time in Moscow, as well as by aspects of old London, Lyra's Oxford, Revachol, Rapture, and Dunwall.

“You’re…” She began, but her voice cut off when her likeness suddenly blinked and their eyes met. Beatrix gasped. “I am you,” the girl answered, “we… are you.” Beatrix gulped and shook her head. “I’m not,” she replied, “we’re surely not…” The figure smiled fondly. Her voice echoed with the thousands of others that Beatrix had heard before in her head and in her dreams. “Then, perhaps, we should describe it as this… You are us.”
