About 5” of snow here south of the river in the Twin Cities. Cold temperatures too. I’m waiting for the plow to come by before I clean drive and sidewalk. Missing our dog Elvis who was very opinionated about snowy cold weather!

“The cruelty is the point” is something I hear often describing our times. Still, inhumanity violates divine spirit and soul, collectively and individually. Nothing will improve or become great.

We recognize beauty when we’re in touch with our humanity. According to some theologians, divine beauty is the complex harmony of diverse adaption. Beauty isn’t homogeneity and is the opposite of chaos. Please consider joining me to shape these times from the inside out.

I retrieved boxes of my books from the attic above my garage and re-read this one for the first time since Truth and Meaning class in seminary with Dr. Don Juel in the winter of 1993.
I remember Juel said, "I find Kermode damn irritating because he's so right."

My mom had a bunch of books in Swedish from her ancestors. This is the one has the most Scandinavian title ever - On the Roads of Misfortune and Other Tales. Or more simply, On the Wrong Path/Astray.
Four generations later, I’m on my own path.
