None of these campus crackdowns is really about Jewish safety. Just like the targeting of transgender people is not about women’s safety. As an ethnically Jewish woman I care A LOT about my safety and the safety of others.

Several households of people from the congregation have had homes destroyed or damaged, and the road to recovery will be long. But they, like their local sister UU congregation Throop Church, are holding one another in love and are surrounded by concentric circles of logistical and moral support.

This morning I got to be present and give a good word on behalf of the Unitarian Universalist Association at Neighborhood Church in Pasadena. It was their first in-person Sunday service since the Eaton Fire devastated their community.
