In the late 1940s into the 1950s, the US sought to ideologically deport individuals, including those who had lived in the US for most of their lives.

I just learned that Goodreads is owned by Jeff Bezos. An alternative is StoryGraph, a Black woman-owned platform (and yes it's really easy to transfer your lists from Goodreads to StoryGraph). You know, while we're moving things.
