The UK doesn’t need more of the same. The UK doesn’t need reform. What the UK needs right now is a shake-up, a major change, a #revolution
The problem is, even though in the grand scheme of things it’s not important, it is still a lie. People are gunning for her and will absolutely jump on her for it

She could have just said the current surplus wasn’t enough to guarantee confidence or security and they needed to boost it

Reform doesn’t care about anything unless they are paid to do so. You can always trace their talking points back to one of their donors

There are always people unhappy with a budget, you can’t please everyone, and it’s a tough job at the minute like you said.

But when there are working people relying on food banks, and the government can’t bring themselves to tax the wealthy more, it’s not a good look no matter how they spin it
November 29, 2025 at 9:07 PM
With the thresholds frozen, including personal allowance, but wages going up everyone ends up paying more whether they move into a higher band or not. It’s not a tax increase as such, but people do pay more

Then you have the salary sacrifice changes so paying into pensions will also now cost more

There have been a few places that have reported against the wealthy leaving. This one found that they don’t leave due to taxes alone. They may leave, but other factors are included

Plus there are assets that can’t be moved, such as houses and land, so we can tax them no matter who owns them
Do the very wealthy relocate because of tax rises alone?
Access to the arts is more likely to govern a billionaire’s choice to stay in a cultural capital such as London — along with the political and economic security

Does Farage even know how to do anything else? Every word that comes out of his mouth is a conspiracy theory or a racist remark
November 29, 2025 at 6:14 PM
So I agree that everyone should chip in for services. But while the cost of living is still high it’s unfair to ask lower earners to chip in more

Also, I disagree with not criticising Labour. We don’t want Reform, but we have to call out what we don’t like. That’s the only way to get real change
November 29, 2025 at 6:11 PM
So even those earning the least will be dragged into higher brackets and be worse off

While the wealthy, who can use loopholes and methods unavailable to the many to avoid tax, pay very little in comparison to how much they have

Nothing was done about these, which would have brought in more money
November 29, 2025 at 6:11 PM
It’s been proven that the wealthy don’t just leave a country due to tax, nor does it cause huge economic harm. It’s just a line they use to bully governments to not tax them

When you look at how much each measure in the budget brings in this “mansion tax” does nothing compared to income tax freezes
November 29, 2025 at 6:11 PM
Typical right winger punching down. Spewing harmful misinformation with the aim at turning people against those in society who need help the most

Seems like their election wipeout and subsequent polling hasn’t taught any of them any humility
November 29, 2025 at 3:57 PM
They’ll never convince anyone they’re a serious party if they can’t even appear united for their own conference. Might as well throw in the towel now
November 29, 2025 at 3:28 PM
What should happen is that the wealthy should pay their share back to the country that helped given them their wealth. The mansion tax announced is just a poor version of that

Ideally Brexit would be reversed so we can start fixing that economic nightmare

But I wouldn’t trust Farage to anything
November 29, 2025 at 3:21 PM
Not at all. The child cap being removed is the only shining example of a good thing in this budget

But everyone except the highest earners is struggling. They may not be on benefits or minimum wage, but the cost of living still hits hard. And now they’ll be pushed into higher tax brackets
November 29, 2025 at 3:21 PM
Great to see a big swing away from Reform, now we just need to keep it up. Don’t let Farage have a moment’s rest
November 29, 2025 at 12:42 PM
The government have created a situation where water companies have been allowed to profit from polluting our environment, and now they want more public money to fix the problem they created, all while still polluting

It’s a disgrace, they cant be trusted, and the only way forward is nationalisation
November 29, 2025 at 12:01 PM
Starmer needs to step up and actually do something about this, rather than washing his hands of it and expecting others to do it for him.

He was head of the prosecution service, surely he knows asking Farage to sort it is essentially asking a criminal to investigate themselves
November 29, 2025 at 10:15 AM
At this point they might as well change their name to DOA. They’ve burned a lot of the goodwill they had at that very start, and their constant infighting makes them look amateurish
November 29, 2025 at 9:55 AM
Necessary? Sure. Fair? Not in the slightest.

All this talk of making the wealthy pay their share and she slaps on a paltry tax that won’t even raise £1bn

Meanwhile lower paid workers will be forced to pay more tax and have savings from pension payments slashed

How is that fair?
November 29, 2025 at 9:43 AM
We saw this just this year in the UK with our reservoirs drying up.

Our current path can’t continue and the nice platitudes from governments do nothing to actually solve the problem
November 29, 2025 at 8:35 AM
It’s no surprise, year on year the government has abandoned young and working class people. All in exchange for the wealthy

Poor job prospects, poor housing prospects, poor wages, crumbling services, no support

Chances are those that remain only do so because they can’t afford to leave
November 29, 2025 at 8:28 AM
Love the way this is snowballing for Farage. Make him feel the same way he makes and has made others feel

It won’t do anything to stop his die hard supporters, but might dissuade others who might support him in the future
November 29, 2025 at 8:19 AM
If Reform ever suggest things for “economic” reasons you can be sure there’s something else going on

Besides, who’d want these flagship clowns in charge of even more things?
