Yeah I mean I guess, but the best I can tell they also don't get any consistent training on the Constitution or even a full copy of the Constitution when they sign up or during basic training. There is "some" education, but no clear syllabus/curriculum, and what is taught varies by whoever teaches.

You actually do qualify for Canadian citizenship if you want it, then, but if you don't get it if/before you plan on having kids born in the US, they will not be eligible. It's a good way to keep doors open down the road.
