There might have been another time when a President just casually mentioned we seized an oil tanker... no, come to think of it - I recall NO other President not informing the American people in a formal fashion when military action was taken. "For very good reasons..." is not cutting it.

Rural America. The Trump Tariffs stand to amount to 44 Billion dollars in lost revenue to you in the way of lost markets, lower prices for your crops, and higher machinery and fertilizer costs. Trump is now promising you with 12 Billion in subsidies. Please learn math before the next election.

In related news, the claim ‘the Tooth Fairy does not actually take lost baby teeth from under pillows’ is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that magical beings are secretly thieving teeth in the dead of night…”

Absolutely no way to read this and not conclude that the Department of Justice has been deeply corrupted. And this is from a time when career lawyers were in place, pushing back against illegality. With firings and resignations, the politicization will just get worse.

Kudo's to the Nobel Prize Committee for nailing it. The prize is awarded to people who have displayed "courage and integrity." It doesn't matter how many conflicts you claim to have ended. What matters are the motivations for your actions.

Remember that comment by Tulsi Gabbard back in May, about considering alternative ways to give Trump his daily intelligence briefing since he didn't read and had no attention span for presentation? Maybe doing it like a Fox new show? Is that what is happening now?

I once served a congregation whose leadership wanted to mortgage the building in order to advance the "vision" that a pastor had for the congregation. A vocal opposition to mortgaging a building they had already paid for, had their voice dismissed and were locked out of the decision making.

So, Target CEO is stepping down. Look at the list of major corporations struggling and you'll see a pattern. If you did away with DEI, consumers decided to shop elsewhere. Turns out if you piss off a diverse population, they will shop where they feel welcome. Who could have predicted that?

The theme in this administration has been to eliminate anyone and anything that does not fit your desired narrative/illusion. Facts, however, are stubborn things and tend to surface again and again whether you want them to or not. www.npr.org/2025/08/01/n...

I commend to you the book "Courage and Defiance" by Deborah Hopkinson. It is a compilation of stories from WWII of Danish resistance to Nazi occupation.
Nazi occupation of Denmark was bloodless. The government capitulated to avoid the bloodshed of attack by superior forces.

So long as we keep looking after our narrow or individual, or closest constituents issues, we will lose it all. We are called to care for our NEIGHBORS' INTERESTS. Our Neighbor is who WE do right by to protect and empower.

I just finished reading biographies on Ben Franklin and John Adams. Featured prominently in both are the repeated stories of children (theirs and other FF's) dying from smallpox, whooping cough, measles, etc. I hope RFK and the panel read a little history before they examine vaccine schedules.

I just quickly perused coverage of the 250th Anniversary of the Army. The best live feed for review I could find was PBS coverage. I've been on the Mall with 250,000 people for "A Capitol Fourth". We had more people at Mill Creek Park for a "No Kings" Rally than this 45 Million $ fiasco had.
