Another small path & front garden step done under 100% #BlueSky. Last blocks are in & th area on the right is ready for geofabric. Tomorrow morning we'll pick up sleepers for two new raised garden beds. 37° tomorrow & 39° on Saturday. Only working mornings. 🇦🇺 🐨 ☀️ 🌱

This was my favourite guitar pick. It's just a common .73mm pick. But for some reason it always felt better. Alas no more. 🎸

Our spring path project is almost done. The native ground cover out the front was not doing well, so it's been replaced with creamy rhyolite. We'll also add 2 raised veggie beds to the right of path to replace the last of the patchy ground cover. Hopefully we'll be done before Xmas. 🇦🇺 🐨 ☀️ 🌱 🎄

Wowzas! Howe awesome is this design! We only have a bunch of bowls. They were handed down to us. We love them inside out. They are mostly breakfast Weet-Bix bowls & lots of other stuff too. If only we were also handed down a flux capacitor! October 26 1985! #BackToTheFuture ❤️

The first few backyard tomatoes & cucumber for 2025. Yeah! There's 4 or 5 tomato varieties in & 2 or 3 cucumbers. Can't remember exactly. 🤩 🇦🇺 🐨 🍅 🥒 🌱

We spotted what we think was a native black sugarbag bee amongst the tomatoes today. Also buzzing around were blue-banded bees. Last year a teddy bear bee visited. We hope to see more soon. 🇦🇺 🐝 🍅

Our spring path update is all but done. It's been a bit slow due to a string of 35-36°C days. Still the west side of the house is cool in the mornings. It's dry & not much light here. Only weeds grew. So we extended the compacted rhyolite garden path along this side too. 🇦🇺 🐨 ☀️

Pakistani Zucchini Curry with rice for dinner tonight. Thanks to @arn99.bsky.social for the suggestion! We used onions & zucchini from the garden. Alas no turmeric & our coriander is still growing. Still, this is an tasty dish. The recipe is over here. www.teaforturmeric.com/pakistani-zu... 🇦🇺🇵🇰

6 native blue bees were buzzing around the veggies this morning. This was great given there are no European honey bees due to Varroa outbreak & eradication. Zoom the first picture. Hopefully they'll like the bee hotels we're making. Also, a Cowboy beetle was hanging out on a tomato plant. 🇦🇺🐝🍅🪲🤠

It's 36°C today in LakeMac, but feels hotter in the direct sun. The garden loves it though. Tomatoes are about 2m tall now. Avocados & corn are going well. Okra, cucumber, carrots, sweet potato, squash, beans, & capsicum too. ☀️🇦🇺🐨🌱🍅🥑🌽🥒🥕🍠🫘🫑

Tonights dinner, baked falafel Kufteh with salad and chips. Zucchini, onion, spring onion, & parsley straight from the backyard garden. Yum! Many thanks @willowmims.bsky.social 🤩

Thanks so much! Rhyolite reminds us of our favourite hiking paths across Katoomba & the Blue Mountains. From the Three Sisters to the Golden Stairs, the Ruined Castle & beyond. May Australia's wild places, & the world's, remain pure, protected & pristine. All photos © their owners. 🌏 🖤 💛 ❤️ 🇦🇺 🐨 🌱 ♻️

Our spring garden path project is movin' on. The backyard & side path should be done by the weekend. It'll be 35°C for the next two days. So, probably only a few early morning hours of work. The raised garden bed opposite the passionfruit box will get an upgrade too, to house a fruiting fig. 🇦🇺 🐨 🌱 ♻️

Our garden path project is ongoing. Slowly getting there, but taking Sunday off. The side path used to become an impassable jungle. It's clear now. But, not sure if there's something we can do with it now? The bed opposite the passionfruit will soon have a fruiting fig tree. 🇦🇺 🐨 🌱

Being able to get fresh food from the backyard, when you need it, is one of the best things about a home veggie garden. IMHO less time & money spent in supermarkets is also a good thing. 🇦🇺 🐨 🌱🥕 🧅 🐝

A few days in now barrowing & levelling rhyolite sand for garden paths. I wish this stuff moved itself, alas my telekinesis skills are sadly lacking. Still the paths are looking good. Can't wait to be done & to get back to guitar & recording songs for next year. 🇦🇺 🐨 🌱 🎸

Almost cut this zucchini yesterday. I swear it was half the size then. What a difference 24 hours makes. If you have a favourite zucchini recipe please feel free to share! 🇦🇺 🐨 🌱

Happy wednesday everyone. All the best. 😎

This year, we're setting more permanent rhyolite paths around the backyard veggie beds. The rhyolite arrived this afternoon, not a cloud to be seen. 100% #BlueSky. A few barrow loads are in and levelled. Lots to go. Hopefully, we'll be done in about a fortnight. #VeggieGardens #BackyardFood 🇦🇺 🐨 ☀️ 🌱
