Ik heb dat in het voorjaar al moeten doen voor een familiebezoek aan Amerika. Daar is redelijk wat gesneuveld toen… 😂

So technically I was doing his subject, I just did it on my own in stead of participating in what he was saying in class. And when we had a vocabulary test he would also approve of the words that maybe weren’t the ones we learned in the list, but were a correct translation too.

Oh I’m from way before then too. But he figured that as long as I was getting good grades etc I was free to do my own things, as long as it had to do with English. So read the compulsory books or write to my Irish penpall (we went there every year, so that’s why I was fluent early on).

I only got diagnosed when I went to uni, got subjects that I didn’t understand and had to work for it. I totally failed. My English teacher (I’m Dutch) early on recognised that me studying had the opposite effect. Winging it got me great grades, studying did not. So in stead I read books in class 😂

Our cousins and I always have great fun discussing our somewhat strange relatives. And only later in life I realised that my family is not quite the norm for normalcy 😂 So I can totally relate to this post.

Not always. My AuDHD dad (obsessed with the Battle of Arnhem, Ireland and spent almost every free minute of his retirement writing our family history, only to drop dead 3 weeks after it was published) picked my narcissistic mum. But to be fair, they didn’t last long. I got diagnosed (ADHD) at 28.

Die is ook echt geweldig. Mijn favoriete Nederlandse boek. Na het lezen besloten dat ik toch echt eens naar Noorwegen wilde en nu (na heel wat meer Noorse avonturen) emigratieplannen 😉

Good luck! And I’m cheating a bit… I use an app with presets (only learning Photoshop etc now, so not good enough to do a lot of what I want yet), Mextures.
But you can do similar stuff in Lightroom with colour grading.

In the Netherlands we have a huge tradition of setting off fireworks on NYE, but from next year there will be a ban, thankfully. Only one more time of trying to settle my cats and hoping my windows will survive (twice they didn’t).
