Binged through this in one night, whoops. But sometimes you just want to see shitty men get what's coming to them 😈 If you've read her Others novels this has a somewhat similar set up of supernatural creatures living next to humans but with an element of Fate added.

Overall, a good book with great world building though a bit of a slow read. In some ways, I loved this more than the Priory but knowing some of what was going to happen from reading the Priory kind of hurt the experience a bit.

I picked up 2 vols at a sale so I could continue but still ended up on a cliffhanger 😭. That's all that's currently out in English so I'll have to wait. Still enjoying this series. These had 1 character I want to humble so much & another that's kinda manipulative & I don't know how to feel about him

It's pretty book day! 😍😍😍

Look at those gorgeous end papers in grandmaster of demonic cultivation 🤩 I'm excited to see what the other end papers look like.

I love this series 🥺. It's definitely cemented itself as one of my favorite danmei. While I would love to see more of them, this volume brought their story to a satisfying conclusion. I'll have to come back & read this in one go because it was a bit hard to keep track of characters that reappear.

Honestly, It was clever to 5 books for 5 clans. The sprayed edges also follow this.

I'm not a fan of yellow (or the Jin) but I do really like the concept & it's beautifully done.

I think looking at all these together, the black & red one is my favorite so far.

This was a good volume but too short. 7seas, gives us 400+ pages! Some important things were revealed and that ending 🥰🥰🥰 Also, the boss fish man will never not make me laugh 😂

These are books from 2 quartets in Modesitt's world of Recluse. I love this world. He's created entire civilizations that rise and fall and you get to see how that happens. These are 20+ books in though so what I can say is limited.

Theory of Happiness is an ok volume. The protagonists spend a lot of time apart and have a lot of communication issues. Limit, however, is so good. I binged through it last night. It does such a good job of showing that communication is not a matter of whether or not you can hear but what you do.

The pace picked up a lot in this volume and I really enjoyed it. Xiao Chiye had really grown as a person & Shen Zechuan is also really started to come into his own. That ending tho 😭

I hope we get some more of the ladies. They were on the cover but there is not much of them on this vol.

This is adapted from Malory's Le morte d'arthur and it written in middle English. Someone on goodreads called it a bunch of sociopaths wandering around the country picking fights and that is a pretty accurate description. Would not recommend unless you really want an early Arthur book.

I watched the anime awhile ago and forgot how much I liked this. It's a cute story about 2 guys falling in love. The tension is mostly internal as Miyano tries to figure out what it means to be in love. He's such an overthinker & I love that. It gets better the further you get into the story.

This is a good story about a girl figuring out what it means to be ace and how that changes the relationships she has with others. If you ever wanted to more about what it means to be ace, I recommend this. Actually, I read this in august but I forgot to post about it.

This story was a lot of fun if you know your fairy tales. If you don't, you'll probably miss a fair amount of references. It kept to a fairy tale story line while also making fun of fairy tale tropes throughout. I really enjoyed it and will have to get my own copy.

This volume gets into the burial mounds back story. It has the same issues the whole comic series has had which is that the comedy is good but the serious scenes don't have the same emotional impact other versions of this story have.

This was a short volume but really enjoyable. I still struggle with some of the historical references just because I don't have enough background knowledge but there was less of it than in the first volume.

Took me a bit to really get into the story because Kondou's workaholic tendencies were kind of off-putting but once I did, it's a cute, unique story about how different perscpetive can change a society. The relationship between the two leads is a lot of fun once Aresh figured things out.

Today we choose faces is the better of the 2 books in this volume and the reason I'm keeping it. It's set up in 3 parts and what you think it the plot is the 1st part is not actually the main plot. I had to go back and reread parts of the 1st part after I finished in order to catch everything.

A slower volume with a lot of set up for the next arc of the story and a fair amount of time with the protagonists away from each other. The sweetest times were when they were together 🥺

Also, it was nice to see Xiao Chiye finally realize & start to atone for his previous actions.

I was absolutely in love with the book up to page 160 so much that I put her other books on hold at the library. Loved the academic setting & getting to know the magic system & students & Laura.

My free book from the library challenge. It's aimed at a younger YA audience. (The adult selection was all thrillers 🫤) It does a great job of making the story of Apollo 13 engaging & informative. The book is worth it for all the diagrams & illustrations alone.
