Neither the individual, nor the community at large, is under any social or moral obligation to subject itself to conditions it finds distasteful. While you or I may have a wider latitude for accepted behavior, the community's parameters must be respected.

That opens a larger question: Can a true asshole be reasoned with? Admittedly, we're all assholes at times. The trick is how we overcome inherit assholery -- or do we succumb to it?
In the old days there was a term, "Sealioning." Assholes who ply their trolling trade under the guise of civility.

I'd counter that full-time inherit assholery is manifest in the actions and reactions they exhibit. So while it may not be the asshole by definition that's banned, their social behavior is predictable -- and inescapable.

Best I can tell it's "Don't be an asshole." If that makes a person left-wing, we're good with it.
