Reverend in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Despise misogyny, white supremacy and Christian Nationalism. He/him. Happily espoused to the Amazing She/Her. Typical Yankee Enneagram 3. Probably cycling. I've watched a movie or two.
I have no sympathy for her. But she finds out what we already knew: the Anti Christ turns on everyone.

Wow, the old "we are as capable as Epstein of sin so we shouldn't be too harsh" argument.

Actually, no, we are NOT.

Great thanks, I think I'll check it out, it's one of those films that is so iconic I just have to see it sometime!

I've never seen this movie either! Tell me if it is worth watching!

I watched Anora tonight after seeing that it won Best Picture last night. I’ll be honest, I really disliked it. Didn’t think it was good at all. Conclave was so much better.

Welcome you will love it here, many of us have left the horrid propaganda site for bluer pastures. With a huge #pcusa contingent here!

Great article and podcast interviews from you on this movement. The dominionist reconstructionist theobros, like Doug Wilson who Pete Hegseth follows, are furious about the NAR. They hate mystical charismatics and, in their view, heretical women preachers like Paula White Cain

Here’s why in my view. I would put PCA in with the southern Baptists, it seems more Baptist than reformed. Now that The Gospel Coalition seems to be more important than the PCA per se, as an umbrella org to promote CN, patriarchy and a few points of Calvinism, PCA becomes less relevant.

I loved The Substance, what a great theme, the fruitless quest for endless youth and immortality. Any film that shows the futility of this creatively is a plus. HOWEVER! The horror movie like goriness at the end was simply too much. I hate horror movies and it left a bad taste in my mouth.

In my view one of the greatest films ever, tightest story and script for sure, and the best catch phrases ever. I reviewed this on Best Film Ever in April 2022. My favorite catchphrase which I quite often is…

Great review! And I've never seen much of Seinfeld, or any of The Sopranos or Veep either!

My favorite line is when Albert tells Eva near the end, "you broke my heart." I am rooting for them so much!

Watch Enough Said with James Gandolfini and Julia Louis Dreyfus, my wife and my favorite Rom Com, James Gandolfini is so endearing!

Great episode! And I agree with you, Conclave is my top Oscar nominated movie for this year!

Luke 6 preaching, part 2. Preaching be kind to the ungrateful etc., but also using Genesis 45. Summarizing 13 chapters and 22 years of the dysfunctional, sad, horrid, redemptive Joseph and his brothers story in 15 minutes or less!

Yay thank you! The women pictured are 5 powerhouse women who are Presbyterian pastor and leader colleagues! Sunday we had my installation service, a day of celebration like an inauguration, at my church, to celebrate my staying there long term. Woo hoo!

November 5, 2024 is what is going on. Bluesky it isn't as bad as the "X"tremely horrid site owned by the guy DJT works for.

Not crazy about Luke 6:17-26, I am doing the non-lectionary Luke 7:36-50, "the woman" who anointed Jesus' feet with her tears. She's so important! My title, "So Many Things I Wish I Knew About 'This Woman.' And One Thing I Do." She was erased by "a sinner" innuendo, but Jesus saw her. She loved him.

I love this. My spouse and I had our first Valentine's Day as a married couple. We were house sitting, we could not find a good restaurant. So we went to International House of Pancakes.

That is the Valentine's Day we remember most.
