Loving the time I got to spend with my two sons this past weekend. Justin flew in from Las Vegas for a couple days and we got to see a play, went to Ethan’s graduation and ate some delicious meals together.

We were blessed with great weather and time to relax and enjoy each others company!

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers for our brother and his family, and yes even for his captors. Soften our hearts to hear the cries of your people.

And another groups response. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers.

Over the past month I have been with two different groups of people who are walking alongside and serving survivors of flooding in Appalachia. At the start of the training, when asked how they were feeling - this is what they shared.

It may seem odd to commemorate this day - but I don’t ever want to forget how my (our) world changed five years ago. #lettherebepeace

Today it was announced that I will be appointed to serve as a Transitional Intentional Interim serving North Liberty First United Methodist Church in North Liberty, Iowa, effective July 1, 2025. It means a lot to be able to return back to Iowa. This allows me to be closer to my family. 🙌

Anticipation... and wonder.

The appearance of these slender stalks make me smile - not just because of the anticipated arrival of spring. But also because of the resilience of the bulbs from which they come.

If you're an Aldi shopper...you might want to check out the Cage Free Eggs - $4.29/dozen vs $4.49/dozen for the factory farm eggs.

Bonus: no limit on how many dozen Cage Free eggs you can buy.

Today has been a - when you give a moose a muffin kind of day....a pot of stoneground porridge (great breakfast but I made too much) led me to bake oatmeal sourdough bread. Then of course I had to bake regular sourdough bread and I STILL had more porridge so now Scottish Oatcakes are in the oven!

It’s another snowy day in West Virginia. Taking advantage of the fluffy snow to ‘snow wash’ my woolen knit garments. It works! The snow will attract any dirt particles and the garments will smell fresh and clean. (This is a tip from people in Scandinavian countries)

It's a snowy day (and snow day) in West Virginia, first time I've lived here when the snow has lasted more than 48 hours! Really grateful to have a fireplace in the parsonage...what a difference a cheery fire makes!

What are you up to today?

Moral of the story: don't mess with an doctrinally orthodox bishop who gives out gifts for the needy, saves young women from horrible fates, and punches out heretics.
