I talked about money and possessions in my sermon last Sunday. This article compliments what I spoke about very well. You can listen to the sermon here: www.podbean.com/ep/pb-9kckq-... #stewardship #fiscalresponsibility #money #possessions

There are so many problems with this. But the main one in my view is that I wish they would use those funds to bring back funding to USAID, or medicaid, or to reduce the deficit. Do we really need a ballroom? #fiscalresponsibility #wastfulspending

Since I decided to stay home today because I'm sick I thought I would start the book, "The Class Meeting: Reclaiming a Forgotten (and Essential) Small Group Experience." By: Kevin M. Watson. He is convincing me of the importance of trying to reclaim this practice in the UMC.

Now that Lent is over, I can engage with social media once more. I was glad I gave it up for a time. It helped me gain perspective and helped me connect more with God in prayer. I hope to continue with a more healthy engagement with social media going forward. #lent #socialmedia

Though I certainly understand the "I told you so" mindset, I'm not sure it's all that helpful in coming together to make the world a better place for all people.

Not surprising, but frustrating none-the-less. Why? Russia was the aggressor.
Breaking News: The U.S. opposed a UN resolution backed by most of Europe to condemn Russian aggression in Ukraine, a sharp shift in American policy. The Trump administration voted against that resolution and introduced its own that simply called for an end to the conflict.

Even if you like the idea of what Musk and Trump say they are trying to accomplish, the potential conflicts of interest here are overwhelming. There are all sorts of ways this has and can go wrong.

"But I say to you who are willing to hear: Love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you." Luke 6:27 CEB

This is hard to do in the best of times, but especially now in our super divided world. If we are to see our divisions lessen, it has to start somewhere, why not with us?

"Growth for the sake of growth is the ideology of the cancer cell." - ecological philosopher Edward Abbey.

This quote got me to thinking about Church growth and discipleship. Growth should have meaning and depth, otherwise what good does it do?

How on earth does taking over Gaza help the US? The only thing I see this will do is cause more pain and suffering for a people already hurting, and lead to more armed conflict rather than peace. 😤
