Probably not a real person.
So here it is August 23, and I'm sitting at 264 miles completed, or 44% of my goal. I'm not feeilg super confident, but I did get to fulfill a lifelong dream to make a giant wall thermometer to track progress on a goal.

The project also constructed a shared use path along the south side of Wilson between Etna and Johnson. The street was narrowed significantly to make room for the trail. It's an important connection to the Johnson Pkwy Trail and the Grand Round.

The trail terminates at the Hwy 61 and Burns intersection. The Indian Mounds Trail is kitty corner across the intersection, and the Upper Afton bike lanes start about half a block to the east, but reaching either of them is tough. This intersection is a challenge for anyone not driving.

The project also constructed a shared use path *through the interchange* between Hwy 61 and I-94. The alignment includes an at-grade crossing of the NB 61 to EB 94 ramp, which was realigned to be a sharper turn for drivers to slow them down.

Moving west, the project constructed a shared use path from the intersection of Old Hudson and Birmingham to the intersection of Etna and Wilson. Just a short connection through a formerly empty lot that will facilitate access to the Gold Line station.

The project constructed a shared use path along the north side of Old Hudson between McKnight Rd and Ruth St. It's nothing fancy, but there previously wasn't even a sidewalk here, so a pretty substantial improvement overall.

There's a decent ped refuge island just west of McKnight to help people cross Old Hudson Road.

There is a new bike/ped bridge over McKnight on Saint Pauls eastern boundary line. I didn't walk up it to get pictures from the top. Below it, it's a bit of a spaghetti junction of shared use paths going in diffferent directions.

I came across this sidewalk situation on Wabasha today. Not the first time I've seen it but this seemed particularly bad. The truck encroaching into the sidewalk is maddening, especially with the shin-busting trailer hitch sticking out like that.

I've never been in US Bank Stadium before. Pretty cool building. Here for a 5K fun run the kiddo.

There was also a really frustrating sidewalk gap at one of the Concordia parking lots. I'm pleased that the project was able to finally build a sidewalk here, though I worry cars will frequently overhang the sidewalk.

This is pretty close to what the finished product will look like. Very pleased to see the pavement quality addressed, and the bike lane, while not perfect, is a step in the right direction.

People on bikes use the signal to cross the busy cross streets (Lexington & Dale). The green markings direct bikes from the ped eamp in the median to stay in the street on the far side of the intersection.

What to do with the bike lane at busy freeway interchanges? A bike ramp allows people on bikes to get off the street and separated from heavy freeway traffic. (In the pic, there's a concrete bike ramp under the insulated tarps.) The wide sidewalk functions as a shared use trail.

Concordia/Rondo mill and overlay is coming along. Street repaving is complete. Striping is half done. One of the travel lanes was removed in favor of a buffered bike lane. Might slow down traffic speeds (this is a good thing).

Loving the new ped refuge islands along Snelling. I wish the medians had been landscaped, but concerns about maintenance resulted in concrete.

New shared use path along the golf course with surface stormwater management (hopefully the stormwater features start to look better after grass comes in)

New bumpouts at Highland Park Middle School to help kids walking to school.

Before and After of MnDOT's project on Snelling between Ford Pkwy and Montreal. Night and day difference with fewer lanes, medians, narrower overall width, shared use trail, new lighting, and ped refuges.

Minnesota Street, ready for paving the next section of the Capital City Bikeway.

I like these little medians popping up all over the place in Minneapolis.

I painted a small garage today.

MnDOT's Minnehaha overlay project looking good.

Ramsey County's Larpenteur reconstruction at White Bear is coming along. New sidewalks and bike lanes, and fewer travel lanes.

Gold Line station at Ecolab Plaza under construction. Love that the project removed the free right-tuen lane from SB Saint Peter. Also visible in top left is Ecolab's revamped plaza area completed last year.
