The Return of the Living Dead (1985) isn’t nuclear, but it’s definitely nuclear-adjacent. 💀
A leaked military gas called Trioxin unleashes punk-rock chaos: melting cadavers, graveyard rain, and paramedics who should’ve stayed in the van. More ROTLD facts coming soon; don’t inhale the fumes!

Final THREADS (1984) post!
That last scream from Ruth’s daughter wasn’t the actress, it was a real baby’s cry, distorted until it sounded inhuman. Mick Jackson said even the editors could barely stand to hear it.
What film should I tackle next: The Day After? Testament? When the Wind Blows? #horror

During Threads (1984), right after the bomb hits Sheffield, a terrified woman loses control of her bladder, credited only as “Woman Who Urinates Herself.”Her name was Anne Sellors. She passed in 2015 at 63. Let’s raise a Sheffield pint to her fearless realism. 🍻

Another THREADS (1984) horror lesson: Ruth Beckett’s tabby cat turns from cozy domesticity to chilling symbol of nuclear annihilation. 😿
Don’t worry! The “dying” cat was just high on catnip; the footage was reversed to look tragic. ☣️

I finally have Shudder again and I’m catching up on all the Joe Bobs I missed last year. We’re starting with the Nightmare-a-Thon. I’m bummed two of the movies are missing, but I’m sure they’ll show back up eventually. @therealjoebob123.bsky.social Slumber Party Massacre, let’s go! #MutantFam

I’m watching #Svengoolie with you guys, but Young Frankenstein (pronounced FrAHNK-in-steeen) is so dang good I can’t stop to make quips. It’s my 17-yr-old kid’s first time watching and they are loving it so far! #youngfrankenstein

The bandaged traffic warden in Threads (1984) has finally been identified after 40 years as actor Michael Beecroft. A symbol of order turned nightmare, he remains one of the most haunting faces of nuclear collapse ever filmed. #ThreadsFilm #RetroHorror #NuclearPanic #MutantFam #CultFilm #80sHorror

Continuing my mission to educate the masses about THREADS (1984)…
Around 00:52:30, during the firestorm montage, there’s a shot of an E.T. doll melting in the blast. It lasts less than a second, but it’s a haunting moment, a symbol of childhood innocence literally dissolving in the apocalypse. ☣️

☢️ THREADS (1984)-
One of the first films to show what nuclear winter might really look like: ash-dark skies, freezing temperatures, failed crops, and a world slowly unraveling. 1/4

Anyone get real excited when they see younger people watching classic horror movies for the first time?

Or when you see older folks watching new horror movies for the first time?

Or when you see anyone watching a horror movie for the first time.

I love that for all of you.

Rampant sleaze with Hollywood legend Gloria Grahame leading the twisted fun. Seedy and despairing with a hint of 70s camp. Prime Grime. 1971.

I watched Twilight Zone: The Movie tonight - hadn’t seen it in 20 years - and learned that Anthony’s mouthless sister in the “It’s a Good Life” segment was played by Cherie Curie! Also the guy that pushes Anthony in the bar is Billy Mumy who played the original Anthony in 1961! Neat, eh? 1/2

Can anyone recommend a spooky movie in the vein of The Fog? I’m in the mood for a dreary backdrop (70s or 80s era preferred) today. What d’ya got? #horrorfan #spookyseason #retrohorror

I did it. I finally saw Bring Her Back. I have a pretty strong stomach for gore (though it’s never been my favorite aspect of horror) but a couple of scenes legit made me mini-gag. That aside, it was a genuinely great movie! A24 always delivers. 8/10 - Recommend!
