And I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there I'll tell you how my hobby projects all went to hell and are in dire need of a reboot now.

What am I making?

Ok so #infosec people.. what's with #passkey fad anyway? I want everything to live on *my* hardware that I privately own and manage the backups for. No big tech. I don't want to depend on biometrics, and I don't want a phone or hardware token to be a big fat SPOF. What do I do?

I just went online with Windows 95 over a PPP connection. The world sure doesn't like IE3 anymore! Good thing it does know how to do passive FTP!

Kubespan is actually quite neat. K8s nodes are all behind NAT but WireGuard still stitches them together into a coherent whole. Cross-continental networking on zero budget is fun but how does K8s behave when its brain gets split, then reunited? Only one way to find out!

It's the weekend! Tinker time! Got an 8-node Kubernetes cluster running with half the nodes in Finland and half of them in the Netherlands. My private cloud has availability zones now!

Why does Kubernetes feel like a huge pile of complexity? Like I'm working with one hand tied behind my back?

Completely different subject I'm looking to find connections for: I have a #gifted kid (7) with an IQ tested well over 145. That, my friends, is an incredible struggle for us as his parents and for him growing up in this weird world. Any #parents here in a similar boat?

Hey all. So umm, who do I follow around here for retro #MSDOS and #Commodore (64 / #Amiga) gaming and allround computer geekery? I'm also quite an avid user of #FreeBSD so always interested in that as well.

My kid (7): "I can't sleep! My stream of thoughts is off, as well as my emotional processing. I can't get them to coordinate. Dad, is my brain broken?".. where do I even begin!?!
