in retrospect, maybe i shouldve lit the mantle more like the knight since the sprite depictions of both are similar

but using image depth isnt bad either, wouldnt you agree?

here's another view into the creation of this, originally i was making it in krita with a completely different composition, but i was unhappy with how it looked, so i redrew the mantle in aseprite since i felt it being pixel art was far more important to its identity than say, the knight

here's a little fun fact, the background was a result of me fucking around with various effects in krita until i stumbled into something really good

the source image is one of the unused backgrounds for the masked man fight in mother 3, have a guess at why i chose it lol
