Incompetence re: national security. That is the Trump administration. The only way Hegseth could get his job was if all women and minority people qualified for the position were barred from getting it, and all the qualified white men bent the knee.

Re: deporting alleged gang members. When I was Family Court Judge I had jurisdiction over kids under 18 who managed to get into the U.S. somehow. Often the boys came to ESCAPE gangs they were being forced to enter. It is entirely possible that a boy could have had a gang tattoo under duress.

An opinion piece in the NYTimes today by Janelle Bouie gets it right: He is a covetous person consumed by an insatiable desire for acquisition, a man who seems to take the seven deadly sins as a seven-day challenge.

I support Ukraine and the US should.

Adultery is sometimes a crime. Below is a map showing what year adultery became a crime—earlier to later is light blue to dark blue. MD was the first. Iowa is among those which never made it a crime. A lot of these states have repealed the law—NY only in Nov 2024! Wild stuff.
