3/3 And doc reimbursement just cut, so all the BC/BS and ACA (younger) people will be preferred patients in the “mix” so an even longer wait for care in Medicare. All I can say now, is eat carefully, exercise all you can, and God willin’ and the creek don’t rise, we might make it.

2/3 when, not if, you need substantial care, you will permanently pay their max out of pocket which is usually 8-10K EACH per year…one plan has a max of $14K for ‘26. What young people imagine is “Medicare for all” is a juicy Blue Cross plan for all with no premiums.

1/3 Right you are. Medicare + Medigap +part D (combo which approximates good employment health ins.), plus deductibles, will cost around $1400/mo. for two of us…and that’s with NO dental, NO vision, NO hearing coverage, and lots of Rx that are not covered. Med DisAdvantage seems cheap but

Beclowning….original with you?
Seems like we are all trying to describe an indescribable era

Many in the PNW use light boxes during the winter, for insomnia. In my patient settings (community Rx, long term care, MD offices), insomnia peaked in the dead of winter (down to less than 8 hrs/daylight). AM light can help reset sleep patterns.

A bit disappointing this fall, since spring was weeks late and fall is right in time….with reduced yields, etc. Good weather today and into the week in Portland area, so another chance to clean up the garden. I will try some lettuce starts (sooooo late) in a big pot in unheated greenhouse.

Ok this is PNW gardening…you can see why I was so surprised. Tom’s and peppers in Newport OR, or something, would be really amazing

Lack of training to test/spot CKD in primary care. And lack of time to train. And just plain lack of time.

Where on coast?
Peppers and Tom’s this late are amazing

Probably just wanted to escape all the #%?! down here for a while!

Perhaps a “most pathetic dead plant” competition for the ONW gardening feed would be in order…

We all have our gardening “compost pile of shame”.
Then there’s the “closet of shame” with excess hobby items, donations that never get donated, etc.
And the ”garage of shame”.
And the “seldom used cleaning supplies” of shame. 🤓

Are you teaching gardening classes down there? You should be
November 8, 2025 at 3:37 PM
Ok, you are just magic with plants! I’ve never had luck with succulents but may have to try this one….desert-y summers here but grow lights needed for overwintering houseplants. Hmmmm.
