Yes. The female of the species has always been diminished by 'those in power'.

There are other ways: refusing to have them back after acute episode of care in hospital.
Putting them inappropriate room that increases their agitation, then asking them to move out.
Denying family advocacy.
Reducing 'care' to the 'point of abuse', but keeping legal.
Have experienced them all.

#Volunteering is a noble pursuit but it should not replace well-funded services with trained & experienced staff.
I volunteer but I will not do so where it blatantly replaces a paid member of staff.

Resurgence hails from Hartland where I used to live. The founder is an interesting chap.

Grandparents are often also caring for their own parents.. we were relieved of the responsibility at 66, after 20 years of elder care.
Offering support and care for grandchildren is (often) a more pleasant option.
