I might try lifting some and leaving some. I’m in East Anglia which is the driest part of the country and on light chalky soil. They are sooo beautiful and flower so late.

I haven’t grown dahlias before, but they give such great autumn colour I think I should give them a try. Do I have to overwinter the bulbs in a shed or similar? I’m in the UK.

In the UK we don’t use the word ‘fall’ but if you say that sentence using ‘autumn’ it just feels lumpy and as someone has already said ‘fall’ works better with ‘collapse’. So I’m plumping for a UK wordsmith using a US term.

My hibiscus has just started producing buds. I just hope it gets to flower before the weather turns. First years flowering so it might be a bit earlier next year. 🤞. Yours is lovely so worth the wait.
