I rewatched this video again because @hankgreen.bsky.social has a lot of insights that opened my eyes to the broader picture. Politics are but one cog in the machine of society, and spread of information is a driving force.

This is a great essay arguing that Left and Right are kind of arbitrary “tribes.” A lot of the time our stances on issues would be more varied, but we back our party like a die hard sports fan backs their favorite team.

I find it interesting that of the 4 rogue replicants in Bladerunner, Deckard only manages to kill the women. He gets his ass beat by the men.

One of the men decides not to kill him in his final moments whilst delivering an iconic line about tears and raindrops.

The other was shot by a woman.

Just watched Bladerunner for the first time. I see why it’s so renowned. Excellent movie.

Every time I sit down to work on my web app pet project, I start with concrete and attainable goals. But I end 3 hrs later with nothing except slightly tweaked style rules and a git history that looks like my toilet after a 2am Taco Bell run
