i'm also not the only one to dislike World's End, Dustin Putman was notably not a fan of it: thefilmfile.com/reviews/w/13...
Dustin Putman's Review: The World's End (2013)
The World's End (2013) - 1.5/4 Stars - A creative miscalculation full of wasted potential, mark this dour little number down as a big disappointment.

I feel the same way about After Earth, after how dire the Shyamalan formula ran I was relieved to see him do a film without any of his usual bullshit attached(I.E. totally nonsensical twist endings that seem "clever" on the surface but fall apart if you think about them for more then a minute)

almost certainly yes, it would be super weird if he didn't in a live-action film, as "Silent Night" showed the whole "no-talking" gimmick can sometimes really suspend disbelief if it happens for no reason, like in that film you can see why the main guy does not talk but no explanation for the others

I can see that for 1 and 2 since they came out on the PS2, but I don't see 3 getting that pricey.

I enjoyed some of the cast in that one, though I thought the ending was kinda weak.

Also Clinton gave support for the idea of gay marriage but amazingly enough even LGBTQ people at the time pushed back against the idea so "Don't Ask Don't Tell" was a compromise born out of necessity.

people generally consider him a mixed bag, on the one hand he did pave the way for gay people to serve in the military and he did help put an end to the IRA with the Good Friday agreement, on the other hand there was the repeal of Glass-Steagal and Hilary's "superpredator" remarks did not age well.

he may not have said exactly those words but it was something close to that effect and Chris Rocks reaction to that garbage take was a stunned "Come on man" and the audience booed pretty loudly so it's easy to see why the public sided with Clinton back then when those were the people attacking him.
November 17, 2025 at 11:15 PM
it was also an example of blatant hypocrisy and misogyny which Chris Rock pointed out on an episode of The Chris Rock Show, that idiot Larry Elder was a guest on that episode and Elder tried to argue that any woman who dismissed the Clinton thing never had any right to scream about "rape" ever again

it was a dumb non-troversy for it's time and Ken Starr was ultimately a precursor to bad-faith Republican fearmongering over certain issues.

I do think Clinton did a lot of good things overall, funnily enough there were areas where he tried to be more progressive but the rest of the democratic party and society wasn't ready for it, like if he had his way we could've in theory had the ACA back in the 90s but dems rejected the idea.

also known as the "close in age exception" law, I remember when "Everwood" did that storyline about Ephram(who is 16) dating his 19-year old babysitter Madison and the show claimed their relationship was "illegal" but in reality Colorado has one of those Romeo and Juliet type of laws.

I had a blast with that one, didn't like World's End much though.
November 17, 2025 at 11:05 PM
I liked Baby Driver, did not care much for World's End though.
November 17, 2025 at 11:05 PM
I thought the ending was pretty cool
November 17, 2025 at 11:04 PM
nah it's pretty good
November 17, 2025 at 11:04 PM
eh i'm a sucker for Die-Hard type plots so i was fine with it, heck I even liked Skyscraper, probably the most blatant rip-off.
November 17, 2025 at 11:04 PM
that movie was pretty fun though.

I think she's a talented actress and she was pretty good in that, never got the hate for her, feels like a lot of it is sexism honestly.
November 17, 2025 at 11:03 PM
nah it was damn fun, saw it in theaters and had a great time.
November 17, 2025 at 11:02 PM
eh that seems shallow to me.
November 17, 2025 at 11:02 PM
I think it's a solid film.
November 17, 2025 at 11:02 PM
to be fair Steven E De Souza said the original book as is would've been ufilmmable so I wasn't expecting this film to do it either, i'm totally fine with the ending as is, thought it was badass.
November 17, 2025 at 11:02 PM
eh I liked it better then World's End, really don't get the positive reviews for that one honestly.
November 17, 2025 at 11:01 PM
I enjoyed that movie but I did not care for World's End, which I found to be a clunky mess with a not-particularly-likable main character and a confusing as hell "message" about technology which just made me scratch my head, felt like two totally different films jammed together and not in a good way
