Shelly has Zigbee now in their Gen4 line. Looks like they have a custom in-house revision of the ESP32. Still some cheaper-than-I’d-like bits on there but eh, not bad.

This inconsistency sneaks into a few parts of the FoxESS Cloud App & Website too, but oddly not _all_.

@sheddi that’s pretty damn decent. We got 9.4kWh from 7.15kWp of panels today. I was expecting much better looking at the forecast but it clouded over unexpectedly around midday. Forecast.solar was pretty accurate though.

Interesting thing I observed in the data from my inverter modbus polling... The voltages of the PV strings go through this interesting exponential sawtooth (?) type waveform. I guess this is basically the MPPT algorithm entering a kind of "hunt" mode where […]

Heck yeah! After a ton of debugging I narrowed the problem down to some weird echo behaviour of my RS-485 adapter. Every response appeared to have my request prefixed to the start of it, which was causing the CRC failures I was seeing! A bit of fiddling with […]

The request and response I captured decode perfectly with no CRC error.

And the response looks normal too. But `modpoll` still says the CRC is wrong. So that kinda indicates something is wrong with my adapter's Rx circuitry/setup...
