Yeah we've considered that, it was actually my initial pitch. At the same time, conveying that "people like a downtilted response" from the visualization alone has its benefits, and it's a good fit with speaker research too. We should have some updates on the visualization soon though.

Version 1 goes outside the bounds more consistently, however the version that ended up being the low anchor likely is not the same since the pad supplier changed. The low anchor was worse if I recall correctly.

YES! Exactly this! The biggest benefit is less the curve itself and more the relationship between bass and treble that people prefer. Almost like... we need to abandon the idea of single line targets altogether ;)

Yeah it sounded immediately wrong to me. And that's not just because it was overdone in the bass and treble, it was also full of length mode resonance issues.

It's okay, for that model it may improve the sound! I never ended up trying that. These pros may actually be on to something that we're not doing correctly.
