Shortly after our update on nidovirus, The BioDude posted that they have a situation with their snakes and disease.
It is unfortunate and we wish them well, but the irony isn't loss as BioDude is one of the many people pushing UV lamps as "disinfecting" and claim they prevent disease like this.

I hate that this is also peak Reptile Hobby tech.
Plants don't actually need or benefit from UV.
Animals like pigs, etc, also burn just like humans do.
UV lamps remain the staple for most species for safety.
Someday someone will course correct people on UV topics but until then we have this. :P

I'm confused by some of the orgs coming out of European reptile keeping. Official IHS (International Herpetological Society) is now creating ban lists off of REPTA/Peregrine/RRK that don't really make any sense.
They name non-viable combos but have kept single gene Champagne? Naive and weird.

![After some discussions recently, we have decided to adopt the same species banned list as REPTA. Some of the species were already on the list, however please see below the new list of banned species. These cannot be sold at any IHS show and will apply from all shows AFTER the June 2025. This includes as single morphs or part of combos.
Super Champagne Royal Python (Python regius)
Super Cinnamon Royal Python (Python regius)
Super Black Pastel Royal Python (Python regius)
Spider Royal Python (Python regius)
Jaguar Carpet Python (Morelia spilota ssp)
Super Motley Boa (Boa imperator)
Super Jungle Boa (Boa imperator)
Enigma Leopard Gecko (Eublepharis macularius)
Lemonfrost Leopard Gecko (Eublepharis macularius)
Super White Out African Fat Tail Gecko (Hemitheconyx caudicinctus)
Silk Back Bearded Dragon (Pogona vitticeps)
In addition, the following combinations should not take place:
