One of THE greatest short story collections over ever read! These stories center on Indian Muslim women in South India, layered portraits of the women, the pacing of each story is both dynamic and yet abundantly literary. AMAZING WORK!

I heard she supports Palestine 🇵🇸 Also won the Nobel Prize very recent. This is a very short read but has a ton of depth. Really simple story about her mom. Very effective in terms of scenes between them, details, the zooming in and out about class, gender. Very honest about parents.

My Nani gave me this before she passed years ago. It’s Ma Kali. I’ve returned to wearing this more often with all my health struggles and the fact that Kali provides me a sense of courage in these times 🙏🏽 Happy Kali Puja

Just in time for the No Kings rallies, check out my latest article at CounterPunch
discussing how our understanding of fascism is usually obscured by liberal pundit class double-speak. Fascism for instance is not simply authoritarianism. It’s something more.

This was such a complex story. With really complex characters. You can feel the world breathing. Highly recommend 📚

Gave a good concise history of Kerala even some of it prior to independence. And how the left wing, especially communists, have done so far. Of course Kerala when reading this should serve as inspiration. The author himself served in the government. Highly recommend 📚

Todays the birthday of Walter Rodney, an anti imperialist Marxist intellectual, whose work here is the standard! 🇬🇾

This is already one of my favorite books of ALL TIME!!! It’s such a simple story of Palestinians, including Palestinian Londoners who are trying to stage a play of Hamlet in Israel and the West Bank. But the writing is just exceptional, it made me jealous! 🇵🇸

It’s still surreal to have my work featured in both of these books! 📚🙌🏽

Highly highly recommend! Losurdo is proving to be one of my intellectual heroes! Here he goes after so called “western” Marxists and those aligned, from Adorno to Arendt to Foucault. In the process, I learned a lot more about China too 👍🏽

This is me at a conference talking about how to build coalitions among African Americans, Latinos and Asians in the U.S. 👍🏽
