Some recent pieces for a #photography class I'm taking this semester

Been fine-tuning the ears a good bit, think I've got a shape I'm mostly happy with, might return to it later to edit it some more though!! The raw geometry is so ass but it looks pretty good subdivided lmao

Just gonna make this a thread to keep everything in one place... Worked on hands a little this morning, still need to adjust a little (the hooves look like very strange fingernails) but overall happy with the shape!

More progress.... starting from scratch and trying to do it right :) made a rough ref and I'm actually following a tutorial, so hopefully the rough sculpt is more productive than the last one where I was just throwing stuff at the wall lol!

Decided for my resolution that I wanted to try to be more creative this year, so I'm working on making my own VRChat avatar! Definitely really crude rn and is going to require lots more work, but for my first time really diving into Blender since high school, I'd say I'm doing pretty well :)

While the test monument worked fine, the 360 video left a lot to be desired. Lots of pitting in the model, very muddled textures (likely bc of lighting + motion), generally not what I was looking for. So, I'll probably keep using 360 video for baseline, but take lots more DSLR photos to supplement.

Been playing around with photogrammetry!! Image on the left is generated primarily from a 360 degree video, while the right is a test model sourced from my DSLR. Got lots to refine, but it was neat to experiment! #photogrammetry

I noticed quickly that some of my other uploads did this too, always taking the form of "[letter from 'Google']_logo" when it occurred. So, it seems like the main text field for uploads is parsed for this "_logo" escape sequence, which can be used to recreate the Google logo text with inspecting.

Found an interesting quirk in Google's Street View Studio, where certain particular character sequences are parsed out as letters of the Google logo! I uploaded this video name "capitol_trail_logo.mp4", but it displayed as "capitol_trail.mp4" with a weird, bolded L...
