Don’t Let AI Ruin the Em Dash
In defense of the newly controversial punctuation mark, which has become a target for those determined to root out AI writing.

arXiv will no longer accept review articles and position papers unless they have been accepted at a journal or a conference and complete successful peer review.

This is due to being overwhelmed by a hundreds of AI generated papers a month.

Yet another open submission process killed by LLMs.

Friendly tip to writer ppl who don't know: Share your shit shamelessly on here. It's super easy to miss bc of chronological feeds. The algorithim ain't gonna do the work for you, your work deserves enduring the slight embarrassment of reposting. If people judge you for it, that's not a fair critique

Our mango tree got a trim recently, and on a morning walk, I came across this little guy nestled among the still-green branches—sparkling after a morning shower. My first thought was that it was a snowflake. Though, a snowflake at my place would mean something had gone very wrong.

A thread to save!
This week in my Science Communication course for grad students, we are starting our unit on communicating technical subjects to the interested public.

Does anyone have any tips on *writing* about science or other technical subjects for the public that you'd like to share? Op-eds, blog posts, etc.
