In what kind of world is this good public health & fiscal responsibility? Dragging out Covid vaccinations far beyond the start of the respiratory season is just plain dumb. Creating barriers is even more stupid. More will be sicker. Hospital costs go up. We deserve better. #ABPoli #RecallThemAll

I decided I’ve been remiss not posting enough art. Politics have momentarily surpassed my true joy in life. From my Dragonfly series - My Soul Yearns, 12” x 9”, oil on panel. This series entwines the dragonfly with the figure to evoke themes of growth, healing & resilience. #Art #OilPainting

The view from my friend’s deck in Hubbards, NS. There were at least 25 cormorants that hung out daily on the rocks drying their wings after deep diving for their supper. Each day, the ocean presents a different mood. I’d never tire of a view like this.

I was standing on the deck of the Bluenose 5 days ago in Lunenburg, N.S.! Those sales are taller than I ever imagined. Good to know they are shunning US travel. It’s a glorious boat. Something Canadians can be proud of.

The port side empty shiny, gleaming deck of the Bluenose sailboat. Its massive sails are rolled and tied up leaving the naked poles towering above. There is a Canadian flag fluttering at the bow. A man stands in front of the flag giving a sense of how big and tall this ship really is. There is printed letters on a white steel tubular structure that says “Bluenose II, Lunenburg, N.S. The dark blue sea has gentle waves and a distance shore behind the boat. Signs on the sail and access ramp leading down to the deck say Bluenose II, Nova Scotia. The deck floor is hard wood finished and varnished just recently to a reddish brown shiny finish. Coils of rope and white and black structures are visible underneath the rolled up sail. A close up of a highly polished reddish brown pole with a large shiny gold coloured bell attached with a thick white rope hanging done from the white painted metal piece that hits the bell to make it ring. Maybe a dinner bell or a way to get the attention of the crew?

The fluffy cat luxuriously lying on the pillows is my friend’s cat and the other is a kitty that insisted I pet him on the pebbly concrete streets of Old Town Lunenburg which is an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
A long haired, larger, fluffier, and prettier than most, grey and white striped cat luxuriously lies on the grey couch against gold, teal, and grey pillows. His large front paws are tucked under and his long furry tail hides his back paws. He is ignoring three treats placed in front of him. A small shorter haired dark grey cat is lying stretched out on light grey concrete as if he may settle in for a nap. He gazes up with half closed green eyes appreciative of the photographer who just gave him some head scratches and pets.

Homage to the beauty of Nova Scotia. First visit and I was not disappointed by the scenery. So many beautiful sandy beaches. My mission of swimming in the ocean at least once daily was accomplished.
A wide, long, white, sandy beach that goes forever up the coast with a shallow, dark blue ocean that meets the sand in gentle waves A narrow sandy pathway with trees on both sides that leads you to a larger beach. The choppy sea is seen in the distance and the darker blue hills on the other side of the bay A mostly rocky beach where red sand meets shallow, smooth as glass waves. Curved around the beach in the distance is a stunning tall cliff made up of layers of red rock contrasted by green trees on the top. Since the sun is setting, deep shadows are accenting the rugged textures of the cliff.

This photo then with no cheating. I just finished a multimedia sketch of me and my two siblings last night. I’m the one leaning against the old pump. Taking a photo helps me see things to correct, I wouldn’t otherwise have noticed. Now I see two little areas that need attention. #Art #Drawing
