Wrapping my first session as an Oregon State Representative was bittersweet. I have come so far and learned so much in these past six months.
I know that there is still so much work ahead of me, and I am proud to carry the banner for HD 33 forward into 2026!

Happy Pride Month, HD 33! I'm committed to supporting, protecting, and honoring the LGBTQ+ community that makes our state & city great. I'm proud to co-sponsor House Resolution 3, which will be heard later this month and will recognize the impact of Black Drag Queens on Oregon’s history and culture.

I was excited to attend the U.S. Navy's reception to commemorate the Navy's 250th anniversary and celebrate Portland's annual Fleet Week. Thank you to the Navy for their historic collaboration with our city and for another fantastic Fleet Week for Portland!

I had the pleasure of visiting the Japanese Garden last week and learning about its rich history. Since 1963, Portland Japanese Garden has been a source of cultural connection, artistic inspiration, and civic pride. I could not be more honored to have it in our district.

Portland's annual Bloom Tour runs until June 8th throughout Downtown Portland and features floral art installations, events, and storefront displays to celebrate spring and our amazing Downtown small businesses. The event also included a runway show exhibiting floral artistry and creativity.

SB 992 has passed the House and Senate! This legislation will update the Bottle Bill to meet the unique needs of Downtown Portland, helping Downtown retailers who face challenges associated with accepting bottles and cans, while preserving the benefits of the program.

I was so excited to visit the site of Portland’s potential newest neighborhood. Broadway Corridor, which is slated to break ground next year, would be a transformational project for Portland, building 450+ housing units. I’m eager to return in 2028 and see this area flourish!

It was an honor to host members from the House Committee on Economic Development, Small Business, and Trade in House District 33 for an economic round table with local leaders and businesses at the site of what will be the James Beard Public Market in the heart of downtown Portland.

I was so proud to co-sponsor HB 2007, which was signed into law by Governor Kotek on April 23. This bill works in conjunction with HB 5047 to fund summer learning grants. I was pleased to see both bills pass unanimously in the House and can't wait to see the impact on academic outcomes.

With the record number of bills introduced this session, there’s an endless source of great ideas from legislators, committees, and advocates. Over the last few weeks, I signed onto additional bills that I want to share with you.
