Rep. Josh Riley
@reprileyny.bsky.social
Dad. Husband. Union-Endicott Tiger. Proudly representing #NY19.
Last week I met a man at Home Depot grabbing every extra shift he can just to cover rent, groceries, and crushing healthcare bills and he’s still falling behind.

This budget does nothing for him. I voted no because working people shouldn’t suffer while billionaires cash in.

Adelita Grijalva was elected a month ago, but Mike Johnson refuses to seat her because he knows she’ll be the deciding vote to release the Epstein files.

I joined Freshman Democrats in demanding she be sworn in. Stop protecting predators. Let the people be heard.

House Republicans jammed through a spending bill that decimates rural hospitals and healthcare.

They refuse to work with Democrats to undo these cuts and are now dragging us towards a shutdown.

I'll work with anyone to keep our hospitals open and do right by Upstate New Yorkers.

The FCC strong-arming a private company to pull a comedian off the air is clearly unconstitutional, and the courts need to say so.

Foreign corporations who own our utility companies are raking in record profits while Upstate New Yorkers are getting crushed by utility bills.

Today I introduced the Keep The Lights Local Act to ban foreign corporations from owning our utility companies.

We're taking our power back–literally.
September 18, 2025 at 9:51 PM
The system is rigged.

Utility monopolies like NYSEG & their foreign owners cash in.

Regulators roll over.

Families pay the price.

That’s why we’re fighting back.

Thank you to the American Economic Liberties Project for joining us in the fight.

GOP budget cuts would decimate rural hospitals and leave communities like ours without care, all so billionaires can get another handout. It's going to cost lives.

I’m fighting back with $500 million in emergency aid, because no family should have to drive hours for a doctor. Not now. Not ever.

Job Corps is a promise to every young person in Upstate New York that if you work hard, you can learn a valuable skill and build a meaningful career.

I will always fight to protect this program from the senseless cuts Washington extremists have proposed.
August 15, 2025 at 5:07 PM
In Upstate New York, we made the punchcards that turned the dream of Social Security into reality.

I'll be damned if we're going to let extremists in Washington tear that dream away now.

I'm proud to stand with @schumer.senate.gov and Broome County seniors to fight for every penny they're owed.

When corporations take advantage of a crisis by hiking prices, that's not the free market—it’s a shake-down.

Wall Street hates my bill to ban price gouging during emergencies, but I didn't come to Congress to protect their bottom line. I’m here to fight for Upstate New Yorkers.
July 28, 2025 at 10:55 PM
Using a crisis to hike prices on food and medicine is the definition of a shake-down.

My legislation, the ‘Cracking Down on Price Gouging Act,’ strengthens existing law to create a national ban and finally holds bad actors accountable.

Gramps Gioffre represents the best of Upstate New York—he served his country, punched a clock, raised a family, and never asked for credit, but he deserves a lot of it. A WWII vet and lifelong Triple Cities resident, it was an honor to celebrate his 100th yesterday in Endicott.

Washington works great for billionaires and corporate PACs, but for people who can't afford an army of lobbyists, they're not getting a Square Deal in this bill.

I'll keep fighting for the faces Washington never sees and the voices it never hears in places like Upstate NY.
July 8, 2025 at 6:34 PM
We're still fighting.

Here's a quick update on where things stand.
July 3, 2025 at 4:14 PM
While Republicans scramble to find the votes for their Big Ugly Bill, I took a few minutes to answer the phones in our office and hear from folks across Upstate.

They’re scared about what this will mean—and they have every right to be.

I hear you, and I won’t stop fighting.
July 3, 2025 at 1:15 AM
Don't tell me you give a shit about the middle class when all you do is shit on the middle class.

I'm voting hell no.
July 2, 2025 at 5:10 PM
The One Big Beautiful Scam will kick 1.5 million New Yorkers off their healthcare.

No one in Upstate New York should lose their healthcare so billionaires and big corporations can get another handout.

In #NY19, postal workers are heroes—delivering Social Security checks, prescription meds, and everything in between.

On #NationalPostalWorkersDay, we stand with them.

The USPS is a public service. I’ll fight any attempt to privatize it.

Honored to meet with the team at the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY. They’re on the front lines fighting hunger across #NY19.

I’m committed to having their back as they face unprecedented attacks.

Women’s healthcare decisions belong to women — not extreme politicians or judges.

Three years after the disastrous Dobbs decision, I’m proud to help introduce two bills to protect and restore the right to choose.

This is about freedom, dignity, and basic rights. And I won’t stop fighting.

Proud to meet with members of Ithaca’s Tibetan community.

I will always support Tibetans’ right to self-determination and oppose the Chinese Communist Party’s violations of human rights and religious freedom.

Honored to be at the Hudson Pride Parade and Festival this #PrideMonth.

When LGBTQ+ rights are under attack, showing up with love and solidarity matters more than ever.

Stopped by Ichabod Crane on the last day of school. Grateful for the chance to talk with students and wish them a great summer.

Since taking office, I’ve made tackling the fentanyl crisis a top priority.

I’m proud to support legislation that treats fentanyl like the deadly threat it is—and helps people get the care they need to survive and recover.
