The ruling class spends billions on bot farms to try to influence or manufacture public opinions, so you can't tell me what people say online stops mattering if we just don't participate/look at it. It's generally beneficial to rebutt propaganda and hold online voices accountable.

I do take your point, but online is very real for many people who are disabled or geographically/culturally isolated. It's also very real in the influence it has as a media form on the larger culture. It is often not confined or contained, and toxic ideas spread fast, and so must be shut down fast.
