Maybe because books haven't gone through multiple formats? Buying a favorite on VHS then DVD etc etc. You buy a book once and then you are done. You don't need to spend more money on a 4k book that isn't backwards compatible with your tv. #physicalmedia

I'm genuinely interested in this question. We have e-books and audiobooks now. A more streamlined version of stories. But I've never walked into anyone's home and asked why they collect all of those books. Because they like them! They want to reference them. Why is it different?
