New Hampshire. Ethnically ambiguous, but not like Rashida Jones
With a lazy AI screenshot, no less

Many replies are taking issue with the concept of Trump leaving a tip, but I think it's actually one of the most salient parts of the analogy.

Trump definitely loves leaving tips because they give him a chance to flex the strength and power that comes from dangling a massive tip to a regular chud

*Nobody in the mainstream media

Kind of illustrative of Trump's near undefeated ability to shift the conversation. Are the orders themselves actually illegal? Nobody cares except Greg!

Ah, good point.

I wonder how much the politicos weigh the youth vote in NH. Our state is so damn old lol. Solid chance I come back here in a moment with a graph or something

(Soon enough we will be the general voting populace, at least)

Hahaha.

I counter that Battlestar Galactica knowledge relegates one to decently solid nerd status, but for High School Musical, nearly everyone of millennial-ish age was exposed to it (our mainstream audience in question) and would therefore think nothing of a politician saying "status quo" on TV

I'm usually pretty hard on Pappas and also tend to agree with the overall sentiment but for this one, I feel like it's a "my yes vote does literally nothing and nobody cares, but a no vote could cost me big" deal

I feel like, for Pappas, this was a vote to protect his Senate campaign.

Kind of an easy attack for an enemy to make that feels ready-made for NH voters: "he wouldn't even condem socialism!"

And on the flipside I don't really see any benefit for him not voting for it tbh

"Status quo" was used in the name of a song from High School Musical by Disney in 2006, so it automatically qualifies as an everyday term

"Over the next century, cruises will totally revolutionize tourism, it's fine!"

Ah yes, guerrilla warfare, famously ripe for process optimization
