Wonderful to join Steilacoom tribal members and Town folks for the waking of the Totem ceremony yesterday at the sign unveiling of the Steilacoom Cultural Center. I toiled and delivered near $1.4m in capital resources which is the bulk of the project. Proud to serve the 28!

Today is the day! So many important races at stake from school boards, charter review commission folks to state races as well as local initiatives. Thank you to all the candidates who put themselves out there and jumped in to the arena. It’s not for the faint of heart.

16m children are about to go hungry. If you can't agree on anything else, doing a stand alone bill to extend SNAP benefits is the moral thing to do. In WA, 930K of Washingtonians are on SNAP and thousands upon thousands are children. SNAP is the front line of defense against poverty. 1/3

Good to attend the South Sound Affordability Housing Partnership (SSAHP) meeting in DuPont as they discussed legislative priorities. This group has reps from electeds from various Pierce County cities with a mission to have a regional approach to housing matters. Each partner pays to participate.

Always great to meet with the formidable Dr. Zhou, President of Bates College, to listen and learn the challenges as they toil to train the workers of today and tomorrow and meet industry needs.

I wore my yellow ribbon hostage pin last week to remember the hostages and hold them close as I have hope for their rapid release. Today may be a very wonderful moment. #bringthemhome

Thank you to the @wastatepatrol for the opportunity to do a ride along this afternoon. I’ve always held our WSP in high regard and supported their efforts and am grateful for their collective service to our communities. They sacrifice to do their jobs well. I appreciate the trooper taking his time.

Wonderful to speak at the ground opening of the Inclusive Playground in the 28th. I toiled hard to secure near $350k between state cap $ and corporate donations to add to the total to get this project done. It’s a labor to make the dream a reality and bring joy to children. @cityofupwa.bsky.social

So much fun hangin’ with community this morning at the annual Anderson Island Labor Day weekend parade. This year’s theme was Gone Fishing! I always have a good time seeing neighbors and beyond. I’m proud to deliver results to folks in this beautiful part of my LD. #28thLDStrong

Shout out to dogs who watch their siblings leave on their school bus and a big THANK YOU for bus drivers who toil daily to get our children to and from home and to school activities safely. School bus service is vital for working families, those without transport, . The wheels on the bus… @upsd83

Beautiful evening in Steilacoom at the annual EV (electric vehicle) show. Fun to see folks check out the versions from many dealers as well as listen to music, get some yummy sandwiches and stop in for a cool refreshment at the favorite watering hole of the Tap Room. My district is darn awesome.

Good and robust conversation on session wins on behalf of animal welfare this and past session and work to be done. I was proud to prime sponsor 3 that made it across the finish line. Enjoyed the dialogue with leg colleagues as well as organizations that are doing the work. #waleg #AnimalCruelty

Incredible morning of service this week @GodsPantry in Lexington packing 321 boxes of food for folks in need with leaders from across the country. They have seen a rise of food insecurity by 30%. I’ll always fight for more resources to feed WA residents. @AndyBeshearKY @CSGovts #CSGToll

Incredible day celebrating community in DuPont! I’m proud to partner and secure capital resources towards this great playground and bathroom project. The bathroom design is first in the nation and will last longer than most. Such a fun day of joy for families in the 28! #waleg

Really enjoyed the leg tour of Nordlund Custom Boat Builders today in Tacoma. They provide living wage jobs and continue on in the maritime trades and are an important economic driver in the region. Grateful to join them to learn more about their work. #waleg #maritimecaucus

I'll always stand up for the distressed - animals and our most vulnerable alike. Proud to get this across the finish line and grateful to my colleagues for their bi-partisan support on this bill that is now in WA along with many states. #waleg

This short sighted decision will have a ripple effect on WA and ship artifacts to a warehouse far away. At a time where we strive to boost our military and recruit, taking away this historical marker in the 28 will have the opposite effect. So much wrong here. I’m all in to fight to keep it open.
