It’s clear Republicans in D.C. can’t get the job done. Just like SNAP, heating assistance through LIHEAP has now been shut off. I’m working with our local utilities and my colleagues in Harrisburg to make sure we’re here to help our neighbors!

Tomorrow is the deadline to request a mail-in or absentee ballot for the November 4 election. Visit vote.pa.gov/ApplyMailBallot and submit your request ASAP. It must be received by the county election office by 5 PM tomorrow.

LIHEAP applications will now open on December 3, one month after they were initially set to open. The delay is due to the federal government shutdown, and it will leave more than 300,000 Pennsylvanians without heat in their homes this November.

Due to the shutdown of the federal government- which is controlled by Republicans in the White House, U.S. House, U.S. Senate, and Supreme Court, November’s SNAP food aid benefit funding will not be arriving from the United States Department of Agriculture.

Today, I visited the Philadelphia Children's Alliance, Philadelphia's only support center for victims of child sex abuse and their families. Over the last year, PCA served more than 2,000 children - providing healing, justice and resources for children, families and communities across the city.

Election Day this year takes place on Tuesday, November 4. Before Election Day, make sure you are registered to vote, know if you are voting in-person or by mail, and if voting in-person, you will need to know your polling place. All of this information can be found at vote.pa.gov.
